Is a Quechua word that means working together.
This is the name we selected for our adventure, since the products we create are the result of collective effort.
Years later, we continue with the same mission, but as part of something bigger.
Today we are a solidarity brand within Textil El Amazonas S.A. BIC, the company that produces the marvelous cotton yarns we have always used. The weavers have fluorished with us, improving their and their families’ life conditions.
Our dream is that this project creates important handcraft spaces in rural places, where traditional art and the communities’ identities are maintained and promoted.
All our products have original designs, inspired in the ancient technique of waist looms.
With patience and attention to details, our fabrics are handmade by Cajamarca weavers with mercerized Pima cotton yarns.

Alessandra Gerbolini is the creator and designer of KUSKAYA.
All our fabrics have original and unique designs, based on the traditional weaving techniques of the waist loom.
The collections are inspired on diverse topics, that go from nature to art, from traditional handcrafts to modern graphic design. The concept behind our design is to have fun without rejecting any ideas, while finding new ways of developing waist loom weaving, challenging the apparently limited technique options of this tool.
Proud of being a B Corp
KUSKAYA is the solidarity brand of Textil El Amazonas S.A. BIC, a certified B corp that seeks social and environmental well-being, as well as economic success.
Good evening, today I went to the inauguration of your new collection in Dédalo and I wanted to congratulate you for continuing to innovate with your designs and textiles. These are very special objects, and I am happy to add a new piece to my collection 🙂
I have been a client of KUSKAYA for more than 20 years and since then I have been a fan of the brand and recommend it 1000% (…)
These are very high-quality pieces, made with a combination of Pima cotton woven textiles and leather. What I like is that in their designs they combine traditional handcraft techniques together with modern ones, which makes the objects unique (no two handbags are alike).
I have gifted (the products) many times to family members and friends that live abroad, and they truly appreciate them. To have or to gift a KUSKAYA piece is to take a bit of Peru with you.
